Aladdin Schools are an Irish owned and run award-winning tech company who have developed online an innovative Management Information System (MIS) / Student Information System (SIS) specifically designed to simplify administration in primary schools.

 

In late 2018 Aladdin approached Woods Architecture & Project Management to carry out appraisals of several office premises and advise on the most suitable space for the company to relocate to in order to accommodate future expansion. Having discounted all the potential properties on the advice of Woods Architecture, the client was considering postponing the search for a new office space for 12 - 18 months.
 

Woods Architecture proposed an exercise in re-planning the clients' present office space to ascertain if additional staff could be accommodated to facilitate future expansion within the clients existing office space. keeping the company in its current location would be hugely beneficial to the client, particularly as a move to a new location would come at a cost both financially and possibly the loss of valuable members of staff.

This loss of staff would undo one of the key deliverables of the client brief; “the creation of a professional, modern office space to attract the best employees for the company”.


Woods Architecture designed and presented a scheme which would require a complete reorganisation of their offices, but in doing so would enable the company to remain at its present location and offer the ability for the company to increase its staff count by up to 35%, this would equate to a 5-7 year projected expansion. The client was delighted with the scheme proposal and committed to vacating the office space for 6 weeks over the school summer holidays period and sanctioned a complete renovation of their current office space.


The design development and costing progressed over 5 months between April and July 2019 with the fit-out work being carried out over 6 weeks commencing in July 2019 with a handover in mid-august 2019.
