EDMONDSTOWN GOLF CLUB PAVILION
Multifunction Pavilion, Edmondstown GC, Dublin.
Woods Architecture & Project Management were appointed by Edmondstown Golf Club to design a multifunction space for use by the club members for a wide range of activities. Woods Architecture & Project Management were asked to design a scheme which would see the redevelopment of an existing greenkeepers cottage located in the car park adjacent to the club. The re-use of the cottage was discounted following an initial assessment of the site.
Woods Architecture & Project Management proposed siting the proposed Pavilion on an unused piece of ground to the south of the existing clubhouse. The proposed pavilion would sit just beyond the 18th green and would form a bookend to the golf course.

The scheme proposed a single-storey pavilion with a service block addressing the carpark containing toilets, prep kitchen, store and meeting room and a 3.2m high multifunction space addressing a new formal lawn through a formal colonnade. A fully glazed facade to the multifunction space allows for unobstructed views across the formal lawn and the golf course beyond.
